Selection Process for TES
1. Application Submission

2. Shortlisting Based on 10+2 and JEE Scores
The Army shortlists candidates based on their 10+2 marks and JEE Main exam scores (for 10+2 students). Only those who meet the required cutoff are eligible for the next round.
3. Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview
Shortlisted candidates are called for the SSB interview at one of the SSB centers. This is a 5-day process, which includes:

- Group discussions and tasks

4. Medical Examination

Training under TES
1. Pre-Commission Training
The selected candidates undergo training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun.
The training duration is typically 1 year and is designed to equip candidates with the necessary military knowledge, physical fitness, and leadership skills.
During this training, cadets undergo rigorous physical training, military drills, weapons training, and tactical exercises.
2. Post-Training Deployment
After successful completion of training at IMA, the officers are commissioned into the Indian Army as Lieutenant and are posted to various technical branches.
They are deployed based on their specialization in fields such as electrical, mechanical, aviation, or communication engineering, and contribute to the operational aspects of the Army.

A mechanical engineering student who has completed their 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics can apply for TES.
