Dear Client, You can file a complaint under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act of 2005 at the following locations: 1. Magistrates Court: If the Metropolitan Magistrate or Judicial Magistrate of the First Class has jurisdiction over the area a woman may file a complaint there: She lives Either the respondent lives or works Domestic violence took place. 2. Additionally she can seek advice from a Protection Officer who will help her draft and submit the complaint to the tribunal. 3. Police Station: Even if it is not required she is welcome to go to the closest police station so they can notify the Protection Officer or assist in initiating legal action. 4. Online Portals or Helplines: In certain states, online women's grievance portals or helplines may also be used to launch a complaint, but even there, the legal process must be followed up with action through the court. Therefore, the first port of call for launching a domestic violence complaint is the Magistrate's Court, either directly or via authorized support mechanisms. I hope this answer helps.
