Yes, we have a number of hotlines and resources for domestic violence victims in India. Also, these services include legal advice and counselling. National Helplines Women's Helpline (Pan-India): 406. This is a round-the-clock emergency response service for women that has support in public and private settings. The Ministry of Women and Child Development runs the service. National Commission for Women (NCW): 011-25802003, 011-25802002. The NCW is a forum that women use to report on issues of violence and other forms of injustice. We also provide legal aid and connect them with law enforcement. Police and Emergency Services Police Helpline: 100 (Universal emergency number). This is the number you can dial for the police at a moment’s notice in the case of domestic violence. Childline India: One thousand nine and a half. This number is for kids in crisis and also for reporting domestic violence against minors. State-Specific Helplines Many states also run their own helpline services and support centres. Also, it is good to look up local helplines as they will have info on the local support structure, which may include shelters and legal aid. What to Expect When You Call When you contact us at these helplines, we have a trained professional. Listen to you as you are. Provide immediate safety planning advice. Inform you about your legal rights. Connect you to local services, which include police, legal aid, medical care, and temporary shelters. Offer counselling and emotional support. It is a fact that we provide these services in a confidential setting to support victims. I hope this answer helps to resolve your queries. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any further questions. Thank you!
