Answer By law4u team

Yes. Online gaming fraud can be reported to the Cyber Police in India. Online gaming fraud includes offences such as: Fake gaming apps or websites. Fraudulent in-game purchases. Theft of gaming accounts. Unauthorized transactions. Fake tournament or prize scams. Phishing links targeting gamers. Impersonation of gaming platforms or support staff. Cheating users through virtual currency or gaming credits. If you become a victim of online gaming fraud, you should: Report the incident to the nearest Cyber Police Station or any police station. File a complaint through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, where applicable. Immediately inform your bank or payment service provider if money has been transferred fraudulently. Block or secure the affected gaming account and change passwords. While filing the complaint, keep the following evidence ready: Screenshots of chats and transactions. Payment receipts or UPI transaction details. Gaming account details. Usernames or IDs of the suspected fraudster. Email or SMS communications. Links to the gaming website or application. Bank statements or wallet transaction records. Depending on the facts of the case, the police may: Register an FIR if a cognizable offence is disclosed. Investigate the digital trail. Obtain information from gaming platforms, banks, and internet service providers. Trace the accused and recover electronic evidence. Take legal action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS), the Information Technology Act, 2000 (where applicable), and other relevant laws. If the fraud involves unauthorized financial transactions, reporting it immediately increases the chances of freezing the transaction and recovering the money. Prompt reporting and preservation of digital evidence significantly improve the likelihood of a successful investigation.
