If the grievance is not upheld, the personnel will be informed of the reason for rejection, and the decision will be communicated transparently.
Military personnel are provided protection against retaliation or punitive action for filing a grievance in good faith. If it is found that the grievance was submitted without malicious intent or to harass others, the person filing the complaint is protected under military rules.
If any retaliation or harassment occurs due to filing a grievance, the offender may face disciplinary action as per military regulations.
In certain situations, military personnel may seek legal assistance to guide them through the grievance process. This is especially true in cases where the grievance involves complex legal issues or potential violations of service regulations.
Military personnel can also consult military lawyers or legal officers for advice before taking any formal steps.
A soldier is not being provided adequate medical care after an injury sustained during training. Initially, the soldier tries to resolve the issue informally by speaking with their unit commander, but there is no resolution. The soldier then files a formal grievance through the Grievance Redressal Cell, detailing the medical issue and lack of care.
