  • CCPA can represent the interests of a large group of consumers by filing complaints directly in District, State, or National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions.

7. Power to Initiate Class Action

  • Take suo motu action or act on behalf of a group of consumers suffering from a common issue (such as mass fraud, faulty goods, etc.).

8. Oversight of E-commerce and Digital Trade

  • Monitor compliance of online platforms with Consumer Protection (E-commerce) Rules, 2020.
  • Address fake reviews, deceptive discounts, and non-disclosure of seller details.

  • Search and Seizure under legal warrants
  • Summoning of persons and requiring production of documents
