Answer By law4u team

Advocate Yaseen Shan Muhammed's journey from being a delivery boy to securing the second rank in the Kerala Judicial Services Examinations 2024 and qualifying as a Civil Judge is a testament to sheer determination and resilience. Yaseen’s story offers hope to those who face adversities, demonstrating that success is attainable through relentless effort and perseverance.

Early Life and Challenges

Hailing from Palakkad, Kerala, Yaseen was raised by a single mother who worked as an Asha worker after divorcing at a young age. Despite dire financial conditions, he supported his family by working as a newspaper and milk delivery boy, laborer, and later as a delivery partner for Zomato while pursuing education.

Academic Journey

Although a below-average student during school, Yaseen’s determination led him to complete a diploma in electronics, work briefly in Gujarat, and then graduate in Public Administration. His passion for law took shape when he secured admission to Government Law College, Ernakulam, through the state law entrance exam, ranking 46th. Despite financial struggles, he managed to excel in academics while supporting himself by tutoring.

Turning Point

After enrolling as an advocate in 2023, Yaseen began working under Advocate Shahul Hameed PT, whose mentorship proved invaluable. Encouraged by his colleagues, Yaseen attempted the Kerala Judicial Service Examinations twice, ultimately securing the second rank on his second attempt after narrowly missing the mark previously.

Preparation and Philosophy

Yaseen credits his success to understanding the basics, focusing on Bare Acts, case laws, and judgments. He avoided shortcuts and emphasized the importance of practical knowledge gained through advocacy. Despite his challenges with English, a consequence of studying in Malayalam-medium schools, he persevered, demonstrating extraordinary resilience during the rigorous Mains exams and interviews.

Social Reflections and Aspirations

Yaseen acknowledges the societal privileges that facilitated his journey, reflecting on how systemic inequalities hinder many others in similar circumstances. His empathetic approach stems from his life experiences, and he aspires to use his judicial role to promote justice and represent the underprivileged.

Vision for the Future

At just 29, Yaseen envisions pursuing higher education in law and contributing meaningfully to the judiciary. His commitment to honesty, empathy, and fairness underscores his approach to justice.

Conclusion

Yaseen Shan Muhammed’s journey serves as an inspiration to countless individuals striving to overcome obstacles. His story exemplifies that with hard work, determination, and support, even the most challenging circumstances can be transformed into stepping stones toward success.
