No, probation cannot be granted under IPC Section 325 as it is a section dealing with punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt. The Probation of Offenders Act, 1958 provides for the release of certain offenders on probation or after due admonition without the infliction of any punishment. Under the Probation of Offenders Act, the court has the power to release the offender on probation of good conduct for a specific period, subject to certain conditions. The court may also discharge the offender after admonishing him/her without any further action. However, this is subject to the discretion of the court and the nature of the offence committed. It is important to note that the Probation of Offenders Act does not apply to certain categories of offenders, such as those sentenced to death or imprisonment for life, those convicted of an offence punishable with imprisonment for not less than seven years, and those who have been previously convicted of an offence punishable with imprisonment.

Yes, a drink and drive offence can affect your chances of getting a US visa as it can lead to ineligibility under section 212(a)(2)(A)(i)(I) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). This section makes a person inadmissible to the US if he or she has been convicted of, or admits to having committed, a crime involving moral turpitude (CIMT).
